Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skulls? Spielberg: "Hey George, I've got a great script from OSCAR-NOMINATED screenwriter Frank Darabont," Lucas: " Nah Steve, thats rubbish, don't even wanna look at it... hey dude, you're talking to the guy that wrote Phantom Menace, look at this! CGI Prairie dog, CGI nuclear blast, , CGI snake, CGI Monkeys, CGI ants, CGI aliens..." A Year later. Spielberg : "Yeah, I'm gonna hang out with Peter and James from now on, y'know, proper directors? Oscar winners.."

Ok, so Karate Kid 3 is basically Karate Kid 1 with a fatter Ralph Machio, but anyone who doesn't feel that swell of emotion when he gets up off the floor at the end and kn*cks his opponent is frankly dead inside! Oh and anyone else actually think US Marshall's is pretty decent?

Isn't Star trek 4 supposed to be one of the better ones? After 3 (McCoys psychic connection!), and before 5.. (no can't remember either, something god wanting a spaceship?), Generations... (Kirk squashed by a bridge!), Insurrection... (Save the hippies!), Nemesis ...(non-ripped Tom Hardy!)

Star Trek IV is widely regarded as one of the better Star Trek films (and it was the most profitable until the new). I'm taking a wild guess, but my bet is that the film makers would argue that the alien probe destroying the earth was the villain. U.S. Marshalls had more connections than just Tommy Lee Jones. It had the entire U.S. Marshall team from The Fugitive. They switched out the fugitive and kept the people tracking the fugitive. The connections are obvious.

I don't think TF are saying the Star Trek IV is bad! They are pointing out that it's certainly a 'weird' sequel. Obviously the vast majority of those listed are poor, but not this one. I love Italian, and so do you.

Almost threw my laptop at the wall in fury when I saw Evil Dead 2. But then you saved yourselves - in fairness, I was baffled at the beginning, wondering why the hell Ash would return to the identical cabin with another girlfriend before realising it was a remake..

How about Gremlins 2. Good in its own way but about as far removed from the original as you can get!!

KingofCinema's DVD collection must be like the ending of Raiders of the lost ark (minus the crates). :D

Wes Craven's New Nightmare briefly re-invigorated a long past its prime franchise. Aside from some of the terrible, terrible acting it really wasn't "off beam".

http://www.videodetective.com/movies/highlander-the-source/857249 This was a far weirder sequel than The Quickening. While the second movie did derail the concept of the first movie which was fairly simple and make it far more convoluted and nonsensical, the Source brought the franchise so far from it's original concept to the point where the tagline was taken out of context and made meaningless. This film was complete with a post apocalyptic setting, cannibals, and even more ridiculous and convoluted rules about the inner workings of the immortals. This is the sequel that missed the mark far more than the second Highlander film.

Come to think of it, Moonraker was pretty bonkers, MI6 agent in space? Come on! I would like to see Daniel Craig remake that one.
