Would it? Wouldn’t it?
Pixar have been pushing the boundaries of animated movie-making for the past decade. So much so that it’s almost impossible to distinguish its CGI from anything actually shot with a camera.
Which would explain the Academy’s choice to “graduate” Up from being a mere animated effort to worthy of Best Picture.
Conversely, by that line of thinking, should Avatar have been nominated for Best Animated Feature as well?
Now that would have been a shocker.

Moon doesn't even get a nomination for best film, director, or male lead? The Oscars have finally and definitely become nothing more than a f**king joke. They serve no purpose anymore.

I agree, the oscars have become a nothing. Next year Meryl will be nominated for a walk by in the background role. I hate their favouritism. There is no purpose to the Oscars. I wish I lived 50 years ago, simply for the fact I could get excited for the Acadamy Awards.

Well it' saready been said but it can't be sadi enough. Distinct lack of anything Moon based. Certainly Rockwell's was one of the best performances of the year. He could have been up for best leading and supporting role.............

Is there a chance that Bullock could do a Hathaway and c**k up her oscar chances by appearing in something (in the same year) so bad that it makes you ill? All about Steve anyone?

Now I believe Up should get best picture. Problem with Pixar is that they are too good. Winners of best Animated film since, well, forever, I dont think anyone could argue with a 'proper' film nomination. Its style (Avatar) v substance (Up).
