We’re geeks for subtitles at totalfilm.com.
Sometimes, film companies get them spectacularly right – watch Jason Goes To Hell with the subs on and it improves the experience ten-fold.
But sometimes they go hideously wrong. Icons Of Fright have noticed that there’s a huge disparity between the quality of the Let The Right In theatrical subtitles and the US DVD subs, sometimes to a hilarious degree.
We’ve collected and explained the worst offenders. Let’s hope they get changed before the UK DVD release. Be warned, there appears to be no logic behind the changes, and they will make you angry.
Get yourselves into UK cinemas on April 10 to watch Let The Right One In as it should be seen.

Thanks for highlighting this nonsense, guys. Inexcusable and frustrating. (NTM pirates win again...)

That's not nearly bad as the UK DVD subtitles for the Devil's Backbone. Though there's nothing wrong with the words themselves, the timing is all wrong at various points. Ruins the film.

Ah, getting features off Twitter, well done. It's a shame, whilst not being the perfect film everyone went on about, the dialogue was nice, in the original subtitled form. Lets all celebrate the idiocy of the studio that figured simplifying subtitles will get people to see a subtitled vampire romance horror drama about young teens...

well.... the english dub seems to have the correct dialog but it does seem to have been dubbed by the same dubbing team as the old "dogtanian and the muskerhounds" cartoon i would much rather have it in swedish with subs might have to make an exception here! ill check the blu-ray subs
