Talent: The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner
Why It Rocks: Less a movie about one straight concert, more a tour doc that follows Mick, Keef and co as they tour the US in 1969.
Rambling, rocking and raucous, it's the perfect document of the Stones at their height (not that they've ever truly gone away) and boasts one unexpected, if tragic bonus.
Not every film of this type can claim to feature a murder - but Gimme Shelter's makers were present at the disastrous Altamont Free Concert, at which a woman pulled out a gun and was stabbed by one of the security men. Hiring the Hell's Angels to protect the gig? Not a good call…

You guys clearly forgot to mention the Beastie Boys, Awsome I shot that! 50 different cameras seamlessly edited together and a back catalogue that has sabotage in it!!!

Good list, but Meredith Hunter, the person killed by a member of the Hell's Angels at Altamont Speedway is a man, not a woman.

This list is hugely lacking in not mentioning "Urgh: A Music War".

Uh, in a word, No. What about Pink Floyd's Live in Pompeii (what if a band held a concert and no one came?)? Festival Express? Joe Cocker's Madogs and Englishmen? Dave Chapelle's Block Party (Michael Gondry!!)? Marvin Gaye live at Montreaux? The Concert for Bangladesh? Bittersweet Motel? Scratch? With the exception of This Is It, I've seen every film on this list and I'll agree with Stop Making Sense & Last Waltz is by far the best concert film, etc. But Gimme Shelter above c********r Blues??? C'mon.

Oh and Wilco's "I Am Trying To Break Your Heart" - where else do you see a band sell their record twice to the same label???
