9 Possible Plots For Star Trek 2

Our take on the sequel to JJ's stellar reboot...

2. Khan!

JJ Abrams has previously said that he’s open to the idea of a return for Star Trek II's Khan Noonien Singh.

"Khan and Kirk exist — and while their history may not be exactly as people are familiar with, I would argue that a person's character is what it is," Abrams said of the notion that his Khan could be just as evil, even if Kirk never stranded him on Ceti Alpha V.

"Certain people are destined to cross paths and come together, and Khan is out there ... even if he doesn't have the same issues."

We’re not saying we want another Wrath Of Khan – even with their success, the new Trek team should in no way try to emulate that classic – but it would be interesting to see the two Ks clash again.

Space Seed is a great episode of the original series to base the story on, the plot shifts of the first film don’t affect Khan's origin, and he’s certainly a better villain than Nero.

Javier Bardem as Khan, please.

Just wanted to completely disagree with Durden. You may be a huge trek fan, but so am I. Huge. And I love what they're doing with this new series of movies. If it was set in the "real" trek universe, they wouldn't be able to do very much with it, such as destroying Vulcan. Now they can change things without pi$$ing off a lot of trekkies. Brilliant. Can't wait to see what happens next. They should remain unafraid to break the boundaries of what is considered "trek"

Got to agree with mattburgess. The freedom this new parallel universe gives them is the whole beauty of the thing. It would have been very limiting to follow the original canon to the letter. This opens so many exciting new possibilities for the franchise! Plus, they're all essentially similar, if not the same characters, so the backbone of the whole thing remains. I'm really looking forward to seeing what they do next!

The whole parallel universe where they are all women was already done by Red Dwarf! :)

I like these ideas. Apart from Khan really. He should be left where he is. Personally I'd love to see the origins of the Borg. I hear rumours that the probe from The Motion Picture was the beginning but I'm no fanatical Trekkie so can't possibly say it as truth... Another thing - why would the parallel universe have to be evil? Why not make it so our 'heroes' are actually more bent and corrupt than their counterparts? The Spock/Kirk conflict idea is a good'n too. Of course they can't possibly re-do anything akin to Amok Time now though can they? haha.
