I agree with Durden, this list is utter c**p! U have 4 movies based on transformers and you don't include Starship troopers and District 9??? What the hell? Shame!

Before I even finish this list...what in the name of all that is brilliant in the world of film, is SIGNS doing in the WORST category???? That's absolutely bonkers! I can understand people's objections to the 'water' logic in the film and any atheists (I am myself an atheist) who can't swallow what the film is really about. But none of these things come close to making this, even just an okay film...it is brilliance! Seriously starting to lost confidence in the total film crew, of which some are really perplexing with their tastes.

So why did Total Film give Signs 4 stars!! Is it because it's popular to say M Night Shyamalan makes s**t films, it was only a few years ago you were basically creaming yourselves over him saying he's a genius!

yeah.. so Best = film. worst = sequel. This article is massively pish. Come on Total Film, you can and have done much better.

HAHAHAHAHA you lost me at Number 1. If you think Tom Cruises version of War of the Worlds is one of the best, then theres no point in reading the rest of this article. FAIL

Agree with most comments placed here. This is 1 of if not the worst most tired list yet published in Total Film's features. War of the Worlds (2005), Independence Day (1996) and Transformers (2007) all filed under BEST!? Signs was no way amazing but for sure had (until the final quarter) had a dozen more interesting ideas than a lot of the clot you have chosen as BEST. The fact as well that you didn't think to include Communion at all says again this list must be written by a gaggle of teenager adolescents.

I totally disagree with the comments about War of the Worlds (1953). Come on. Transformers 1 is classified as better (?) ¿Really?. We can't take seriously the reviews and lists of total film. Now they are saying that transformers 2 is a bad movie. They must be kidding. Apparently, nobody in total film remembers that they gave a 4 star review to that movie. Yes. You are reading well. Not 1, not 2... Total film gave 4 stars to transformers 2, winner of the razzie 2009. They also gave 4 stars to the first part (?).

What a terrible list 1. Spielberg's War of the Worlds was terrible - sticking closely to the source material - since when were the aliens buried in the HG Wells classic? 2. 1953 War of the World - while not ageing particularly well is still a SciFi classic 3. Signs while not a particularly brilliant film certainly isn't one of the worst of the genre 4. 4 Transformers based movies - does this columnist actually watch anything else? 5. Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy BEST!!! - Seriously?are you on crack? It's a terrible movie that bare little or no resemblance to the source material. It messes up the best line of dialogue, goes off on pointless tangents and basically fails at every turn. Missing a few essentials District 9 - Best Skyline - Worst (how could you miss this monstrosity off the list?) Day the Earth stood still (1951) - Best Day the Earth stood still (2008) - Worst F- Columnist must try harder
