A sharp-tongued and deliciously witty adaptation of Lauren Weisberger’s autobiographical chick-lit smash, The Devil Wears Prada is a showcase for its leading lady’s mesmerising talents. Sadly, we’re talking about Meryl Streep rather than Anne Hathaway.
Hathaway is fine as put-upon intern Andy, but her performance is blown out of the water somewhat by Streep’s monstrous magazine editor Miranda Priestly. Even the smaller roles are more eye-catching, with Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci on top form as Andy’s catty colleagues.
Hathaway is perfectly believable in the leading role, she’s just not given as much to work with as her freewheeling co-stars. One of her better films for sure, just not one of her finer performances.

I thought the same, Poekie, Ella Enchanted is one of my favourites. Cheesy as hell, but in a good way :)

Rachel getting Married is a career and performance highlight, you got to give her credit for that. In interviews she is quick wittied and smarter than your usual production line starlet, pity it doesnt translate well on to the big screen.

I thought Love, Sex and Other Drugs was actually a decent effort by Hathaway (nothing to do with her being nude all the time, honest). The problem with her is that it appears she tries too hard sometimes and when she just relaxes a bit, she really can put in a good performance. Or maybe I'm over-analysing it. Ok, she's s**t. Although I've not seen Rachel's Getting Married.

I think she is generally a very decent actor, and puts in a good performance in most of her movies, but her choice of movies to be in is actually quite shocking.

I second that Heisenberg but would delete decent and good and replace with reasonable and average. Although I have only seen 1 of the 15 films and thought it was run of the mill.
