Thanks to the success of the first X flick, there was quite a bit of cash to play with for its sequel. And it shows. Giant sets hinted at the increased budget, while the film’s scope opened up to pleasingly epic scale.
The opening Nightcrawler attack is a pulse-raiser, and Singer ensures that we’re gripped right the way through to the tragic, foreboding end. As we said at the time... X2 is bigger, bolder and better, exceeding its predecessor in almost every way.
