What tempted you to take on this iconic character and franchise?
Chrstian Bale: I could see a similar reinvention was needed to what I felt was so well achieved by Chris Nolan with Batman Begins.
The difference is that nobody’s attempting to ignore the former mythologies on this. I’d enjoyed T1 and T2 when they came out. And I’m also bloodyminded.
Any concerns about taking on another big franchise reboot?
Bale: I look at it from my interest and am very happy to put my head in the sand whenever people start talking about consequences, burdens,
responsibilities.
I’m sure that would be the death knell for succeeding with anything creative. I think if that’s where your mind is at, you’re on the pathway to losing
the point. So I intentionally ignore it.
What was your involvement with the script?
Bale: I had a lot to say but I respect the writer and the writer’s process. From that respect, but also from past experience in projects where there was an attempt at a mass collaboration at the beginning and it never went well, I think there has to be a defined point of view from one source.
After that, sure, you pick it apart and help cement it up.

OMG,I'm so psyched for anything Christian Bale is in!!! To me,he's the greatest actor in the Biz,and frustratingly,he's one of the most ignored,overlooked,and frankly,underrated actors in the Biz.It's really hard to think of any one who works harder,and puts more passion,intensity and grit into their roles quite like Christian does.He's super sexy,handsome,sensuous,and magically delicious(oh wait,that's Lucky Charms cereal,lol),but you get my point.I hang on every word that comes out of his sexy,sensual,pouty mouth,those gorgeous,mesmerizing,piercing hazel eyes,and those big beautiful guns!!!! OMG,the man's got some serious guns goin on there,and he has the best buns bar none(hey,that rhymes,lol).This movie along with Public Enemies is going to solidify Christian as a force to be reckoned with.I'm soooooooooooo in love with him,and so obsessed with everything he does,he's one of a kind,there is simply no other actor like him.Did I mention those big guns?!!!! I voted for Christian several times for the People's Choice awards,he was in several categories,God,I hope he wins them all,he deserves it and more.Best wishes in 2009!!!!
