We're glad Edgar Wright's forthcoming adap of Bryan Lee O’Malley's Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is starting to get a lot of online buzz.
We can't wait to see how the flick combines Wright’s whip-smart style with Lee O’Malley’s razor-sharp books about the titular 23-year-old slacker musician’s battles against love interest Ramona Flowers’ seven evil ex-boyfriends.
So Total Film sat down with him to find out how it's going. Short answer: brilliantly.
We couldn't be more excited about this one. We love the idea of Wright starting out homaging Sam Raimi on Spaced, then going on to create the best superhero movie since Spider-Man 2. Please, geek gods. Make it so!
How did you discover the comic?
“I was given the first book before it came out, a US producer Jared LeBoff had bought the rights before it had even been released because the high concept is so amazing. They sent it to me when I was doing the Shaun Of The Dead press tour. As soon as I got to the first fight sequence, I was like, ‘Ahhh!’”
