How Excited Are You About Terminator: Salvation?

Now we’ve debunked the rumours, what do you expect from the new future-flick?

Earlier on this week, Sam debunked a bucket load of rumours surrounding the new Terminator flick.

One such rumour was the rumoured ending. According to a tipster for Aintitcool, McG was planning to kill the human John Connor off and have the resistance replace him with a robot. Sounds to us like a plot device used in Season Six of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Thankfully, it’s not happening. But it did get us wondering if the rumour-quashing had changed your expectation of the new movie. For better, or worse, let us know...

To get started, I'd like to see references to the TV series. It's been very entertaining so far and I think it has more respect for Cameron's vision that T3 ever did.

Would there be any harm in a brief appearance of Kyle Reese's brother? An appearance from Summer Glau would kind of need McG to know what the hell's going on with that character, so I'd prob give her space for the time being... As insulting and annoying as it was for T3 to write Sarah Connor out with "oh yeah, she got cancer, then she died." I was glad the series is covering that... I do hope that the series and the film do also respect that John Connor should die just after saving them all, shot by Arnie who then goes back for T3. It was one of the darker elements that (along with the ending) would be the only reason to watch T3. Also they'd have to have Kate Brewster in it, surviving and leading the people on from there... which means they have to find some way for the cast of the series, at the end, to set up T3 (John meets Kate and Skynet kicks off)... or will they just say this is now a different off-shoot. Time has been altered. Because that kind of goes against the new attitude of the films and the series, that the future is inevitable and you will get to that point in the end.

I'll be very excited if Summer Glau is in it.

I haven't seen the TV series, so I can't really say, but I'd like them to clear up one thing: how the hell John Connor grew up so fast between the first movie and the second. From what I've seen, I like the look that they have - they've seem to have kept to Cameron's vision in that respect - but I have reservations about McG.
