In the 18 years since Army of Darkness was released, there has been much talk of a fourth Evil Dead Film.
Raimi's original remains to this day one of the most relentless, disturbing and cheap-looking horror films of all time. It's first sequel set the benchmark for how far a horror-comedy could go and is considered by many to be the best of the trilogy, while the third, widely regarded as the weakest, is a fun, if muddled romp through a zombie-infested medieval England.
But what would an Evil Dead film for the 21st century hold?

why the f**k would you want to re-make The Evil Dead????? There has never been a worthwhile re-make, if anything they always just ruin the original movie, why the f**k would you want to do that to a masterpiece like The Evil Dead!!!! The only remake that even holds a candle to the original film is Scorsese's Cape Fear, there's no way that you can possibly re-make the Evil dead, its brilliant as it it, LEAVE IT ALONE!!!!!!!

Total Film, you've REALLY gotta stop these. Hollywood doesn't need any further re-boot ideas!

I would love for Raimi to get back to the Evil Dead. Films like Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland have proved there's still a market for comedy in horror. As long as it's done better than Drag me to Hell I would be very happy.

It's evil Dead 4 or nothing for me. Although wasn't there 2 possible endings at the end of part 3. The directors ending (Shop Smart) and the studios ending (I slept too long!). It'd be interesting to see which one they'd follow up with. Personally I'd go with ash in the future.
