Amanda Seyfried is Sloane

The Dear John star completes the primary cast by replacing Mia Sara as Ferris’s squeeze, Sloane. However, Seyfried briefly puts her foot in it by claiming never to have watched the original.

After a swift dig in the ribs from a Paramount exec, she soon realises her mistake, subtly altering her position to claim it was in fact one of her favourite films whilst growing up.

Nobody asks Joss Whedon what he thinks of the casting…

      Yeah well it started off as an interesting idea for a post, and ended well. Especially like the idea of Ruck and Broderick doing those specific cameos. but i think your casting is WAY OFF! Garfiled as Feris? Cera as Cameron!!! Hell no. And although you guys shudder at lautner.. i shudder harder at leBeouf!!!(in anything- especially Indy 5). So really they should just ramp it all donw, make it very low budget and do it with Unknowns in the lead roles. If it gets too big a budget it will look too glossy and be half as impactful. Either that or just don't bother in the first place. The original isn't that dated yet!

      Previous posters obviously do not understand sarcasm. Apparently total film needed to put "JK" at the end of everything for people to get that this is a joke.

      I don't understand why so many people comment angrily on the reboot articles. I'm pretty sure they're making fun of Hollywood's obsession with reboots, not suggesting them.

      The reboot article re Fantastic Four was interesting because it was sensible - this here is also great because it is nicely over the top - and scary. And anyone who does not get the sarcasm in the Reboot Suggestion should hurry up to meet his school bus.

      I'd probably find this funny if it weren't so haunting. It's a sad truth that Hollywood seems obsessed with adaptations and reboots. Here's hoping this stays a joke and nothing more.

      This was hilarious, i agree with TF. I dont think its possible to remake ferris beuler's day off. Anyhow, whats wrong with the original?
