You said once you were devastated at the way some American reviewers described your physical appearance in About Schmidt. Do you care what the critics say?
What anybody says about the work that you spend a year on means something to you. You know, mainly you start off and you want people to love what you do and if they don't you feel unloved
I would have to say I'm thin-skinned with a lot of calluses grown over the top of it. I mean, I'll always feel it but it's very hard to get me to react to anything like that. The Jersey boy never leaves you [laughs]. You never hear anybody from New Jersey complaining about it!
