While the success of The Avengers has made Phase 2 an easier proposition, Marvel was already prepared to take risks, as Feige explained to Moviefone in September. "It just solidifies the notion that for Phase 2, play the long game, stick with what you believe in, and when there is a fork in the road and one seems safer and maybe a little boring, and one seems risky and harder, we always go the risky and harder way.
"That’s what people will see in Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: Winter Soldier and certainly in Guardians Of The Galaxy, which is one of the ones that I’m most excited about because it’s so outside the box and so weird and so different. People like grand experiments and things that haven’t been done before, the unexpected," Feige added.

One this is long winded - could be summed up in a couple of pages. Two Ant-man, which comes after the planned released date of avengers 2 would technically be phase 3 would it not ... Also stop giving spoilers such as the identity of The Winter Solider - there's a lot of people who don't know who is is and want to wait for the film but you give them no choice - not everyone on Empire is a comic Geek like me and many others so try and remember that

@marvelboy - cheer up you geeky little emo. What's with this pathetic internet moaning bandwagon about "spoilers"? It's a "Complete Guide". Oh, and this is Total Film, not Empire. So try and remember that. Good article and really gets you excited for the next phase of movies.

It is a bit annoying when stuff like that does get spoiled, but to be fair we don't know what Marvel will do in the promotional stuff - i reckon they're likely let taht cat out of the bag from the off. With regards to Thor as well, i'm glad they're changing the aesthetic of the film - i wasn't a big fan of the look of the first one as i thought it looked to 'sci-fi' - i realise that Asgard is an alien workd and they are supposed to be an advanced race, but i prefer the Nordic look that they have in most of the comics. Roll on phase 2!

Surely Hulk is going to feature in there somewhere, you can't leave him on the bench after he stole The Avengers.

Iron Man is a member of Guardians of the Galaxy starting this year. He wasn't a member in the 2008 series which the film is based on. Which is a shame, it'd be cool if Stark left Earth at the end of Iron Man 3 and he was the reason why the Guardians come to Earth in Avengers 2 to help defeat Thanos.

'pipped The Dark Knight Rises to become 2012's biggest hit'.. It made £430,000,000 more than TDKR, not exactly pipped is it.

@marvelboy although it actually isn't a spoiler. I'm a big comic fan, particularly of Brubaker's Captain America run, so I knew the Bucky/Winter Soldier connection. Had I not, it was confirmed several months ago that Sebastian Stan would be returning as Bucky Barnes in Cap 2. I'd like to imagine it was fairly easy to work that out?

As someone who has never read a comic or seen a film in my whole life, this feature is a big spoiler. I had never even heard of a Ruffalo or a Downey (never mind the junior version). The New Avengers looks like it could be a winner for the producers. Patrick Macnee and joanna lumley are at their respective acting pinnacles.
