Appropriately enough for the Best Original Screenplay category, Tarantino had penned a hell of a sweet speech.
Thanking his actors first - including Leonardo DiCaprio - before going on to acknowledge his fellow writers, and the Oscars themselves, it was a surprisingly humble speech (well, except for the bit where QT talked about how his characters are going to live on for thirty years - but, to be fair, that's just stating facts).
He got a good laugh too. After presenter duo Charlize Theron and Dustin Hoffman handed him the prize: "It's nice, Charlize is my neighbor. It's nice to get this from you. Thank you Mr Hoffman."
