Super-snapper Annie Liebowitz has published a fantastic portfolio of 2009 Oscar-nommed double-acts - mostly star/director team-ups.

We love them all - Liebowitz has a wonderful knack of nailing both her subjects' humanity and star quality.

Most spine-tingling, though, is the Chris Nolan/Heath Ledger shot - a bittersweet, expertly blended composite that, sadly, couldn't exist in real life.
