9. Fargo (1996)

Bumbling kidnapper Carl (Steve Buscemi) is expecting to pick up a ransom in a snowy car park. Instead the hostage’s father turns up with a handgun and a bad attitude.

After some shouting and pushing, Dad blasts a bullet into Carl’s face, ripping a bloody path along his jawline. Dad ends up dead as Carl staggers away, trying to keep his face on with a wad of tissues. “You should see the other guy,” he mutters later.
