    I'd add the haunting 'John Dunbar' theme from 'Dances with Wolves' and the lesser known lush piano of the main theme from 'Somewhere in Time', plus 'The English Patient'.

    What a beautiful tribute to a True Artist. Utterly enriching music. Out Of Africa is an outstanding arrangement... made all the more stirring knowing he has now left us. What a stunning legacy.

    All you 12 year-old morons who think Hans Zimmer is the best thing since sliced bread need to listen to this man's work. One of the all-time greats, without a doubt. R.I.P.

    Now I've got that out of my system, thanks, TF for this lovely tribute. As gonzoBen said, a stunning legacy. I second the votes for anything from Somewhere In Time and Dances With Wolves (both of which make me well-up just thinking about them) - although I'd probably plump for the Love Theme for 'Wolves over the main title - and would like to add another omission, the lush theme for the oft-forgotten adventure flick High Road To China. Whatever your opinion of the film, you can't grumble about the beautiful score... Perhaps you ought to expand this list from 15 to 20?

    #5 "From Russia with Love" was written by Lionel Bart, not Mr. Barry.

    This has "FAIL" written all over it. should have been 20 not 15. could have had 'Somewhere in Time', 'Dances With Wolves', 'The English Patient' , 'Zulu', 'High Road To China', 'Walkabout', 'The Cotton Club', 'Chaplin', and 'The Black Hole' the #5 that they show was Lionel Bart. Barry did the rest of the score but not the song. and 'King Kong' (1976) and 'The White Buffalo' deserve to be on this way more than 'A View To A Kill' ...just my pov... the rest is nice peace ^v^

    Hoe can we leave out this interesting and classic mix of synth and classical orchestra with beautiful rhythm and harmony? And the great lyrics of the title tune and haunting vocals of Morton Harket? Shame on Total

    Believe I have to agree with both the Somewhere In Time & Dances With Wolves scores, and some of the relevant themes from them, as both are outstanding. However, I would like to add some of the enchanting, haunting and beautiful themes from Chaplin as some truly incredible John Barry work.

    oops...as I was saying...Michael Caine films especially "Romance for guitar & Orchestra" from the film "Deadfall" (the Beeb need to screen this again, long overdue as are M Caine films) simply mesmerising. His score for Stallone's film "The Specialist" is quite Bond like too, love it!

    I'm not sure why the person making this list decided to focus so heavily on the James Bond cannon of films. Barry did many more that are unique and imho, better. Most have already been mentioned, Zulu, Somewhere in Time, Inside Moves and yes, even Jagged Edge. I must say though, probably of all composers I like (and I include Barry), his are the most easily recognizable by their style and similarity. He frequently borrows from his own stuff. Example, ripping part of the Zulu theme in Cry the Beloved Country. That's only one example, but there are more. I am glad that whoever made the list included The Lion in Winter, that has always been one of my favorite scores of his.
