The 20 Best Simpsons Movie-Star Guest Spots

Gibson! Pfeiffer! Umm, Sting! Big-screen Springfield cameos...

1. Elizabeth Taylor

Character: Maggie Simpson

Episode: 'Lisa’s First Word', Season 4 (1992-'93)

Liz hits the top spot for two reasons...

Firstly, because Maggie’s first word was amajor  milestone for the series, and by taking the part, Taylor pretty much became an instant honorary member of the Simpsons cast.

Second, because she’s a huge star - like the kind they don’t make any more. Even though she only had a single word to say (“Daddy!”) she had to record it a reported 24 times because it was considered just too sexy.

And then when she did nail it, Liz apparently walked out of the recording studio in exasperation, swearing. That’s proper acting.

Notice how all the great guest star appearances are all in the early- mid-1990's Simpsons episodes?

I reckon Tony Blair should have been on this, in the episode where the Simpsons go to London

@Ominater Tony Blair is not a movie-star, though he was one hell of an actor...oh, a bit controversial there.

I'm not sure if I missed it or not, I re read the article. But it is a travesty that Glenn Close wasn't even mentioned as Homer's mother! It's along the same mention as liz taylor as Maggie's voice. Just like Maggie's first word as a milestone, Homer finding out that his mother is alive should at least be mentioned as the top 5.
