Angelina Jolie sports an attractive 1920s hat and wows her way through Clint Eastwood’s mistaken-child-identity thriller, proving once and for all that she’s more than just a tabloid baby-making machine. Jolie is utterly convincing as working-class heroine Christine Collins, searching LA for her real son after a different child is returned post-kidnap. Eastwood’s no geriatric slouch either, staying in total command of the lush period detail. Best Actress next year, deffo – particularly after the snub of A Mighty Heart.
