Oddly, Oliver Stone’s Bush biopic is released Stateside just three weeks before this year’s Dubya-ridding elections – er, when the voting population will be looking forward not back. Politics aside, early W footage suggests a frenetic film farewell to America’s Least Popular President Ever, with bonkers camera-swipes, spot-on lookalikes (Josh Brolin a spit for college-drunk George) and a vitriolic script swerving nothing – God, Iraq and the Prez’s IQ all being lined up for a knockdown. Maybe our own Mr Brown will be next in Stone’s sights.
