God, I have to admire actors, they do go through a lot of rot before fame comes knocking...Unless you happen to be Gwyneth Paltrow and 'Uncle Steven' can put you in his movie and Mummy and Daddy will buy you an Oscar if thats what you really really want.. yes im bitter.

Uncle Steven put Gwyneth in Hook for goodness sake. That film was awful and could have been career suicide before it had even started. At this point I'd also like to put in a good word for "A Good Year", It was battered on release but I actually think it's a hidden gem. There are some things wrong with it....Russell Crowe's accent is curious at best, the script is somewhat wooden at times and there are more than a few Anglo/French cliches going on (it's always dark and raining in London) but at its heart is a beautifully shot film which will make you want to pack up the rat race and go and buy yourself a place in Provence (if you can put together the several million to purchase it of course). And it's got Marion Coutillard looking absolutely stunning (we'd all fall into a fountain if she showed her a**e in public). Give it a break.
