Having written the script, recruited the stars, filled the director’s chair and bagged the leading role, this is very much Sylvester Stallone’s movie. And according to the man himself, he’s more than capable of juggling his responsibilities.
“It’s not a problem if you know the script very well,” says Sly, “which is the case as I wrote it myself. It’s very exhaustive work, but it’s totally worthy.”
It’s a confident stance, but one that’s backed up by Dolph Lungren, who told UGO.com that Sly is definitely the man for the job. “It’s good because he can really help you with these characters,” says the big Swede.
“But if you don’t do the line exactly like he thought it, you have to do it again. He’s a perfectionist. A lot of directors could be intimidated by a cast like this, but not Stallone. He’s good.”

This looks like it's going to be a lot of good, harmless fun. I'm sure there will be lots of 'film' people who will feel they have to turn their noses up at this one, but I won't be one of them. With all those action stars on screen, it will be like Maddam Tussauds on acid! Looking forward to seeing it.

This film could rock...HARD. I love the idea of an 80s style action film made with some of the action genres greats. Shame Kurt Russel said no as a Snake Pliskin esque character could have been great and JCVD saying no is a bit suprising (although the JVCD film may explain the reason he said no). If they cankeep the action flowing, the comedy cheesy and use the same extra for every baddie (see Commando) this could be the ultimte action film.

i love van damme, he's up there with the best, but the guy comes across as a bit of a jerk in real life... so he has some critical acclaim with JVCD, gets a bit of an ego trip, turns down Stallones offer because the story isnt strong enough, but and decides to make The Eagle Path & a new Universal Soldier instead??? Im sure they wont be too bad but they'll be straight to dvd and arent exactly charecter pieces! why make those low-profile movies when he could do stallones high profile one and resurrects his career on the big screen?! ego. thats why! has to be top of the billing on the poster!

Reminds me of those 70s movies where they gather some stars who no longer have the pull to draw an audience on their own, then stick them in a burning building or a capsized liner. Not that that's a bad thing of course, I'm looking forward to this. Especially eager to see Dolph Lundgren make a comeback, I really enjoyed 'Dolph Lundgren is the Killing Machine' so hopefully that movie and this one will see him grab a little kudos after some ill advised roles.
