The Story Behind Ghostbusters 3

Strap on your proton packs - we're going to Hell and back!

2008 – Ghostbusters. Yes, we’re back!

Finally! After nearly a decade of waiting, Sony announces that it has hired Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky – two of the main writers from the US version of The Office to pen a brand new screenplay.

Their involvement also comes after they worked on the script for Year One, directed by one Harold Ramis.

While it appears to be ditching most of Aykroyd and Ramis epic hell storyline, it is maintaining the young-Ghostbusters-take-over idea.

At least, that was Variety’s take. The Hollywood Reporter called it a reboot, which is a truly appalling idea.

Fortunately, it seems that the torch-passing idea is the more likely scenario, though without Judd Apatow’s involvement.

We really want another film, but more importantly, we want it to be good. No, great. That’s not too much to ask, is it?

Total agreement - it NEEDS the original cast, it NEEDS a kick*ss script, and I think the Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd team would be fantastic, because they already have fantastic chemistry, and they are good actors. So long as it doesn't turn into a farts 'n' giggles flick. Keep it funny, keep it good!

They need to do the Hell style Manhattan with that siffler guy. It keeps with the two toned action- adventure/ Horror & comedy genre that the first two did so well. I think these guys who write the office will just make some gags and one liners, and not a really gripping story like the first 2. But you never know. It could be amazing And I'm also down with Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd, I love those guys. Who cares if they are i everything, they are great and they should be in everything, and I know they can pull off the chemistry of the 1st Ghostbuster members.

Mr Miyagi say: Let sleeping dogs lie. Only man who like startled dog bitten testicles should bang drum.
