So what can we expect from the finished article then? Well from the look of the trailer above, it seems as though if nothing else The Tourist is going to be a lot of fun, as Johnny and Angie find themselves caught in a web of intrigue, with plenty of gunfire thrown in for good measure!

Having watched just a couple of minutes of footage, it seems unthinkable that Tom Cruise was ever attached to Johnny Depp’s role. He might have the bullet-dodging antics down-pat, but Cruise can’t do bumbling confusion anything like as well as Depp.

There is also an obvious spark between the two leads, with Jolie looking as smouldering as ever as the femme fatale of the piece. Von Donnersmarck has referred to the pair’s “incredible chemistry”, and if the trailer is anything to go by, he wasn’t kidding.

The Tourist looks like good, old-fashioned Hollywood entertainment, boasting a brace of traditional Movie Stars, a few laughs, and plenty of action. With the film pencilled in for a December 10th release Stateside, you can consider us officially excited…
