We didn't even have to paws for thought with this award. No? Nothing? Not even a round of a-paws for Dug? Sigh, fine. Enough with the rubbish jokes. (What a dog's life.) Pixar strike again with an animated triumph that ticks all the right boxes. Cute? Yup. Quirky? Yup. Want him as a pet? Of course. Dug, we love you.

What about Ups Russel for Best Ankle-Biter? Sure he starts off moaning but by the climax Russel has proved to be as good a hero as any of the nominated kids.

This was a great film. And it was directed by Duncan Jones, not James. I have a feeling people won't be making that mistake for much longer. Very promising debut.
