Plucked from obscurity by director Lance Daly, this Irish firecracker gives an incredible debut as young runaway Kylie. Kylie's an all-out, no-holds-barred diva - something that O'Neill had in common with the character. "We had major diva strops," laughs Daly. "I did mind them at the time, they were agony. But it was funny, and it all worked out." Sure did. Great film. Amazing performance.

What about Ups Russel for Best Ankle-Biter? Sure he starts off moaning but by the climax Russel has proved to be as good a hero as any of the nominated kids.

This was a great film. And it was directed by Duncan Jones, not James. I have a feeling people won't be making that mistake for much longer. Very promising debut.
