Funny how its so often three-star-type films that are the most easily rewatchable. If somethings daft and enjoyable without a particular amount of serious weight, it can be a lot easier to just whack on the telly. Won't be the same for everyone, but I can't imagine sitting down late of a night and casually throwing 'Blue Velvet' into the player for a relaxed watch. Also, I forgot to add 'Hot Fuzz' to that last comment.

Nice to see "Ghostbusters" so many times here. But I was even more thrilled to see "Smokey and the Bandit" here! A great great movie! And the same goes for "Groundhog Day". I did expect to see "The Big Lebwoski" here too...or did I miss it??

some good choices here. I would have to add "Bloodsport" as love old school JCVD, also the original "The Crow" is in there as well. as far as comic book films go it's gotta be "The Dark Knight" and "Avengers Assemble" as they changed the whole comic book film genre!!! must not forget "Anchorman" & "Casino Royale"

Amazed to see how often Avengers Assemble crops up, for both the TF crew and the commenters. Not because it's not great (it is!) but because of how quickly it has already become something people want to watch over and over again. I think that shows, more than anything, how good that film is. Mine: Back to the Future trilogy, Indiana Jones 1-4, Groundhog Day, The Secret of My Success, Big, and, of course, Avengers Assemble.

Not 100% sure what I've re-watched the most but its along the lines of; Back To The Future trilogy, Star Wars IV-VI, Aliens, The Blues Brothers, Time Bandits, The Matrix, Ghostbusters, Predator, T2, Jurassic Park, Die Hard 1-3, Conan The Destroyer (I was young and couldn't get enough of it, same with Clash Of The Titans (original), Indiana Jones trilogy (I like the 4th but only seen it about 4 times, so doesn't count yet). I'm sure Avengers Assemble will be up there soon too ;-)

Seen Serenity about 10 times, yet every time it appears on the tv I have to watch it again. Other films I would watch repeatedly are Casino Royale, Crazy Stupid Love, Grosse Pointe Blank, 300 and X-men First Class to name a few.

I think my list is filled with mainly comedies and with so many films that are bad, but there's just something about them that I can watch over and over again. My ten most watched films would be: 1: The Hudsucker Proxy 2: O Brother, Where Art Thou? 3: Leatherheads 4: Hot Fuzz 5: The Big Lebowski 6: The Royal Tenenbaums 7: Mean Girls 8: Anchorman 9: Office Space 10: Monsters, Inc. And there's much more that I wanted to put in but don't think I should!

Where to start, well in no particular order and for lots of different reasons: The original Star Wars trilogy (but if I had to pick a favourite it would be Jedi, but only just), Raiders of the Lost Ark, Close Encounters, ET, Back to the Future (all of them if I'm honest), both Ghostbusters, The Goonies, Superman 1 and 2, Alien, Aliens, Terminator and T2, The Abyss *(you can tell when I grew up from these) Later stuff that's always worth a watch for pure fun and very little artistic merit Independence Day, the first 2 American Pie films, Deep Impact,

This is a great little article -stands out a mile from the usual 50 Greatest Lists that No-One's Interested In lists - and really does give a cute insight into the different movie tastes of everyone involved. I salute Jane Crowther, you have balls of steel publishing *that* list of movies on this website! For me the list includes but is not limited to Flash Gordon, Clash of the Titans (original), Star Wars, LOTR Trilogy, The Omen, Aliens, Superman II, Romeo + Juliet, V for Vendetta, and Avengers Assemble.

Twilght "it's impossible not to watch"...Eh, not it's not. Watched a few minutes of it the other night, dreadful acting by the young cast. Switched off. My most rewatched movies would be Grease (recorded off the TV on VHS from BBC at Christmas 1982 and watched at least 52 times before tape got knackered), Dirty Harry (I've been watching that movie since I was about 15 and it NEVER gets boring, one of the best Hollywood scripts ever written. If it's on TV, I have to watch until the end)), Star Wars (again, thank you VHS recorders), Halloween II is a hugely underrated sequel and I watch that every Halloween, it's still got Dean Cundey's superb prowling noirish camerawork. Every Christmas I religiously watch L.A. Confidential, Die Hard 2 and the original Black Christmas (the remake was s**t). Of course The Great Escape is in there after being forcefed it on countless Bank Holidays on TV, someday I'm going to watch that movie and ALL OF THEM will get away. That idiot with the giant package in newspaper WON'T fall and give the game away. That guy from The Professionals WON'T fall for the trick he warned the others against. Steve McQueen will reach the sunset on his motorbike. It will happen, OH YES, it will happen.

Jaws, Aliens, Bloodsport, Anchorman, Predator, Die Hard, Swingers, zombie flesheaters, American Psycho, The Thing. I'm no comic book fan boy but I check out most of the comic book films. I didn't think Avengers Assemble was particularly good. It was ok, I'll check it out again when it's on tv but can't imagine rewatching it to the extent of those listed above. Really surprised how good people think it is.
