Why We’re Excited: The man who made LOTR really seems to have connected with Alice Sebold's fantastical novel about a dead girl trying to help with her own murder investigation, and he's got one of the best effects teams in the business helping him bring the afterlife sequences to the screen.

Plus with the likes of Rachel Weisz and young Oscar nominee Saiorse Ronan to the screen, it'll be an acting showcase.
