So, Hugh Jackman might be leaving the Wolverine franchise. But which other actor would you like to see strap on the mutton-chops and let rip?
We’d suggest:
Daniel Craig – He’s got the right mix of moody menace and edgy cool. Still, a blonde Logan? Imagine the fan-site fury!
Eric Bana – He’s done Hulk, he’s done Chopper, he’s done having sex while crying (Munich). Strong and sensitive.
Ed Norton – He’s done Hulk, he’s done having muscles while wearing a vest (American History X). Strong and fashion-conscious.
But who would you cast? Tell us below!

Maybe they should go with trying to be closer to the original, comic-book version... Can't think of many short, stocky fellas... maybe Jason Statham... after This is England, maybe Stephen Graham... they'd both need wigs though...

Excellent shouts Goodland - I'd love to see Statham strap on the claws...

I reckon Tom Cruise would be great for it, he would fit the comic book description anyway. Never gonna happen like but if he did it then he'd make Wolverine his b***h. Snickt!

I've actually never considered Cruise - but now you mention it, he really does fit the comic-book description. All he needs is a hairy back and a stogie and he'd be spot on.

Indeed, if ever the role becomes available then I think it would only be right that Cruise give it a stab. He'd nail the Alpha male attitude of Wolverine perfectly while bringing at least as much heart to the role as Jackman has. Of course it would just be better for Jackman to be Wolverine forever, I don't like it when they replace actors in key roles like Terence Howard in Iron Man.

A young Kurt Russell is perfect. Somebody get working on that time machine. As a bonus we can get Carpenter (from when he was still making good films) to do another Escape too.

sam worthington, he's aussie and brooding, young and not statham. Or Henry Cavill for a Brit version of the same. Both future Bond potential as well. Or Ryan Gosling, just for kicks cos he'd take it all serious and that.
