The Film: A blazing coming of age drama set in the thick atmosphere of Falklands-era England, with a boy who’s lost his father to the war falling in with a new set of friends.
If It Was A Striker: It’d be Paulo Di Canio, the frequently shaven-headed Italian frontman who’s open about his right-wing politics and twice gave fascist salutes to the Lazio crowd.

It must just be me - as everyone seems to rave about it - but, I think This is England is average at best. Easily Shane Meadows worst film. Dead Man's Shoes is miles better than This is England, even if just for Paddy's performance. No sight of The Long Good Friday either, but with these things it tends to be a general toss-up between Get Carter and TLGF. I was going to mention others, but you have the England technicality, not British.

I also prefer Hot Fuzz to Shaun of the Dead, but in fairness, choosing between your favourite Godfather - Part I or II?
