"Never was a voice so perfectly cast as when Murray took on the role of droll, dastardly pussycat Garfield"...Its no big surprise, seeing how the original Garfield was voiced by Lorenzo Music, who also provided the voice for Peter Venkman in The Real Ghostbusters played in the movie by... oh..erm...

Great list, gotta love Bill Murray, doesn't matter how bad the film is. It's still Bill-f*****g-Murray! He was gold in "Charlies Angels" and saves "Space Jam" (funny hat anyone??) "Quick Change", "What About Bob" and "The Man Who Knew...." need to be higher...but aren't they all great? I would have chosen "Groundhog" over "Ghostbusters" (even Ghostbusters is so great)..... Chive on guys!

Fantastic list. I would put Stripes a lot higher, it was a childhood movie of mine, i used to watch it constantly as a kid with my dad, and the parade prep take and consequent scene was genius. "Why did the chicken cross the road....." etc, absolutely loved it.

Note to Total Film writers - there are other descriptive words besides 'titular'. Used three times here and in countless other features

"That is one NUTTY hosptial." I would have bumped Tootsie to #1 for that line alone.

Bill Murray is an actor who appeals to a specific taste, and one that is very hard to nail down. He has a brand of comedy that is all his own; it seems only the words "Bill Murray Comedy" adequately describe his style of comedic acting. At the same time he can blend heartfelt emotion into his seemingly unbreakable sarcastic monotone. The word best to describe Murray is "fascinating." Even if someone does not like him, there is something almost addicting about watching him perform because he is just so difficult to figure out. Case in Point: Scrooged: http://www.videodetective.com/movies/scrooged/2822 His character is just confusing as he is not only funny but also incredibly depressing and downright bizarre in a way that only Murray can pull off.
