Demolition Man really proves Stallone's gifts as an actor. Anyone who says he can't act hasn't seen that movie.

That picture from the fourth Rambo is a picture from Rambo : First Blood, Part 2... Stallone is one of my idols. Cop Land should be higher on the list, he's phenomenal in it!

So the majority of his "best" work is as an uncredited extra?

Golly, where to begin.. Totally agree with Chris Wootton for a start. Also didn't you just give Expendables 2 two stars yet you describe it as his 4th best effort?? The first Expendables film should be a lot lower. It's So-bad-it's-good formula was done so badly it became So-bad it's-pathetic.. Rocky 4 should be higher than Rocky 2, 3&6. You describe it yourselves as featuring the best fight scenes of the boxing movie franchise yet you put it lower than everything but 5... The excellent Copland comes in at 10, then two places above we get Farewell my lovely, that Total Film describes thus: "Not much material to work with, then, but when the jaw’s doing the acting, a script’s not really necessary"... On a personal note I think Demolition Man and Over the Top should be higher, and a leading movie magazine really should have more than a passing familiarity with Lock Up. It's fantastic!

ToursiveuAug 16th 2012, 7:30 That picture from the fourth Rambo is a picture from Rambo : First Blood, Part 2... It is from the 4th film - Rambo and the mercenaries break into the military camp at night. Also you can tell by the Size of Sly that it is a later film anyway. Totally agree that Copland should be higher on the list though - One of my Fav Sly performances

With Stallone, in my opinion, it's more a case of from Worst to Worstest. LOL!!!! Seriously, the man can't act.

Demolition Man is his best film in my humble opinion. I was about 15 when that was released and it was just about the greatest thing I'd ever seen. Should definitely be in the top 5 on this list.

Yeah I think TF has just got confused with this one. It's not his best work it's actually a list of the best films which just happen to feature Sly. I really like him, his best work is in First Blood and Cop Land.. Demolition Man (and Lock Up) are a couple of his best movies. My guilty pleasure for a Sunday afternoon is First Blood part 2

Good list, but I think Night Hawks should be higher. Great film and always love the final scene when Stallone spins around (I'll leave the spoiler out for those who haven't seen it. Those who have know what I mean).

Personally, I think Lock Up is my favourite Slyvester Stallone movie, even though Rambo or Rocky is probably his best.

i'd rank it: 1 ROCKY 2 First Blood 3 Rocky Balboa [i just recently RE-watched it, it's that type of movie that gets better the second time around] 4 Night Hawks [he shoulda made a sequel to this. i don't like the ending that much, though...the disco encounter scene's classic, but get the version with the Rolling Stones' Brown Sugar in the soundtrack though] 5 Rocky II [a bit slow, but very touching and believable] 6 Rocky III [Mr T's clubber lang's one of the ultimate screen villains of all time. and mickey's death..fuggedaboudit] 7 Cop Land [it's the expendables for the 'serious' tough thesps - De Niro, Harvey Keitel, Ray Liotta...etc. it could and should've been better] 8 Rambo: First Blood, Part II [the ultimate classic 80's all-out ridiculous action epic] 9 Rocky IV [Creed's death, dolph lundgren's ivan drago, rocky's training montage in the snowy wilderness...nuff said] 10 Cliffhanger [THE comeback sly needs and shoulda maintained] 11 Demolition Man [silly but FUN action flick..with Wesley Snipes and a pre-Speed Sandra Bullock] 12 The Expendables [couldn't say if i'd rank the second one higher than the original, since i haven't seen it yet] 13 John Rambo [bloody and tough...good update for this franchise... he shoulda done this in the 90's though] 14 The Lords of Flatbush [interesting and quite good outing for the pre-Rocky Sly and the pre-Fonze Fonze] 15 Antz [pretty funny turn in animation] that's all the stallone movies i'd call good to great. forget bout the rest of em. having said that however... Daylight ain't that bad, but not good enuff. Cobra, Tango & Cash and Rambo III coulda been great, but, they went to the wrong story directions. Over the Top highly influences Real Steel. Sly looks much much better wearing the Dredd helmet than the upcoming Karl Urban. his sex scene with sharon stone's really NOT sexy at all. Assassins got potential, but now i can't stop wondering how the movie would look like if it wasn't dumbed-down. i really lilke the street fight finale in Rocky V, and think it's better than the drago-rocky fight. Sly as a goalie's just the silliest thing to see on screen.

Stallone can't act! The ending of First Blood proves that Stallone can act.
