Is there a better actor ever than this man?
Just watched There will be blood and recently Gangs of New york

I'm a big DDL fan myself. He's the kind of actor that only excepts Oscar worthy roles. Definitely an actor who has perfected the art.

Other great DDL films are "Last of the Mohicans" and "The Crucible." Check them out.

Dunno about There will be blood. He was a bit shouty. Not as good as in Gangs. That film sucked generally.

He's like his own personal hurricane when he comes on screen. One of my favourite actors without a doubt.
His role in Gangs of New York is in my opinion his best performance.

You can't be serious when you say that There Will Be Blood generally sucks. I think that Bill the Butcher in Gangs was a more charasmatic character, but Daniel Plainview was a more interesting one for me.

I think what i really enjoy about this character is the way he totally exploits everything that he touches or comes into contact with. I love the way at first we are to believe this man is a hard working family man and then at the end of the film becomes bitter and twisted and all alone.

I once read a quote about Heath's joker being described as the shark from 'Jaws', not giving a damn about consequences etc, this for me can be said for Daniel Plainview in some respects. But whatever i think about his character i think the majority of people on this blog will agree that There Will Be Blood doesn't suck.
