Is The Amityville Horror Being Remade?
 

According to Bloody Disgusting, the Weinstein Co and Dimension Films are planning to remake The Amityville Horror. It's slightly strange news considering it's only been four years since the last remake by Platinum Dunes back in 2005, which starred Ryan Reynolds and Melissa George and grossed over $108 million worldwide.

I heard the same thing, think there will always be money for this movie to be honest. I also read somewhere that they are redoing the exorcist

I actually prefer the second film in the orignal films. It was based on the true story and I think was a prequel to The Amityville Horror. Its been a while since I have seen it but I seem to remember it being a little scarier. Mind you, Sapphire and Steel used to scare me at that age!

The second one was scarier because it took a side step and explored the theme of demonic possession. At the time it was quite creepy.
