Will Smith
 

So, whaddya think of him? I watched a double bill of his the other night, the rather weak Pursuit Of Happyness and the the much better Ali, what struck me most about both films is just how bloody good I think Will Smith is.
I remember back in the day, once in a while The Fresh Prince would do a "serious" and Smith would act everyone of screen, one scene in particular always stays in my head; His Dad comes to see him, but then buggers off, leaving Will when he said he would take him with him. Smiths reaction is perfect, and totally realistic. Its a wonderful scene, one that fortold his ability behind all the jokes and Summer Blockbuster movies. I think he is a top notch actor, perhaps of limited range, and needs to be pushed, I would love him to do something that we can all sit up of a take note of again, like he did in Ali, he may not look like "The Greatest" but he had everything else right, fabulous performance....or am I wrong? What do you guys 'n' gals think?

I really like Will Smith, I enjoyed the Fresh Prince and I even bought some of his early music. He has grown from strength to strength since Bad Boys and has become a very good actor. I like him off screen too, always comes across as a nice guy, his wife is pretty fit too.

As far as I can remember I've only liked him in I Am Legend.

Ah! But what do you think of his acting? Or by liking do you mean that was the only film you thought he was any good in? I only ask specifics because of the double bill I watched the other day, the thing i remember most about both films was Smith over anything else.

Difficult to answer because I haven't seen many of his films. I think his acting is okay, not bad nor great. He can be charismatic sometimes but he's not someone I rush to watch in a film.

He seems cool (possible scientology links aside) but I don't love any of his films or any of his performances. Ali is arguably him at his best, but I tend to prefer him doing comedy. His last few films have been downright awful.
