Have you ever walked out of a movie?
I understand that many of you may argue that to justifiably criticise a movie you have to view it in its entirety.
But that aside, have you ever been so bored, shocked, disgusted, offended, bored, o so painfully bored by a movie that you've given up on it mid-viewing? I bring this up because in recent weeks I was foolish enough to go and see Paranormal Activity 2, having liked the first film the first time round (not as enjoyable on a second viewing) I thought that the second installment may bring something interesting to the table. How wrong could I have been. I was so bored by this rediculous unimaginative piece of studio cash-in that my friend and I decided to leave. We then walked into a screening of the Mexican cannibal movie We Are What We Are. Which, while not being the most enthraling piece of cinema, was good enough to hold our attention for the full duration. We did however notice several people leave this movie mid-screening. In less recent times I have walked out of several other movies, though I asure you its not something ive made a habit of. Most notably The Ring 2, Oceans 12, and the Nightmare On Elm Street remake. |
I don't think I ever have.. the film I came closest to doing it was with 'Meet Joe Black'. There's always the slim chance that it might get better, and also with cinema prices what they are these days, a bit of a waste.
The most people I've ever seen exit a film was with 'Eat Pray, Love'. Obviously there's a few I'm given up on while watching on telly. |
I'm a bit like Zippy, if I've paid for a ticket, I'll sit through it. Films I have sat through under duress and have sorely wanted to walk out of include 'Shutter Island', 'The Bounty Hunter', 'Be Kind Rewind', '300', 'Love Honour and Obey' and there was one film I can't even remember what it was called.
It was a low budget UK gangster farce with Rhys Ifans as a strange bank robber and it was just so dire, one of those 90s crime films that were spawned by 'Lock, Stock..'. The problem is I'm always in the cinema with someone else, can't really leave them behind if they're enjoying it, best to grin and bare it and play minstrel mine field in the popcorn. Popcorn, popcorn, popcorn. MISTREL! Hmmm melty... |
James Bond zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I fell asleep in Qantam Of Solace and the missus had the right hump. Does that count?
|
I guess so, i fell asleep during each of the last 3 saw movies. That cant be purely coincidental.
|
Saw films
Watched the first Saw and that was it for me
|
I would walk out but I'm not allowed to :-(. I've had to watch some shit over the last 4 years
|
Plenty.
Pirates of The Caribbean. Depps most annoying character and he's surrounded by annoying characters. Utter, utter shite. The Last Samurai: Cruise is the only one who can save an entire people despite being a smug, drunk tw@. Well done Hollywood, that's pretty fecking insulting. Crystal Skull. Never happened. I'm sure there's another, but I've fallen asleep few a few, too. |
Mission Impossible, The Patriot, and I fell fast asleep during Batman Begins, but that was probably because I was tanked.
|
Maybe it was Batman Begins... damn that film was shiote.
