Ed Harris / 'I Love Virgil Brigman'

The man's a legend, I can't remember a film he's been in of late where he wasn't one of the best things in it. From Mockney/Stalingrad guff 'Enemy At The Gates' to the 'Truman Show' and more recent support offerings in 'Gone Baby Gone' and 'Eastern Promises'. I even remember watching 'The Right Stuff' when I was a kid with my dad and much preferring him to the other astronauts (although I always wanted to be Chuck Yeager.), the man's just legendary.

He's an actor of great quality and Cameron's 'The Abyss' is an oft forgotten classic, so Ed, I salute you! I even forgive the random throwing of crockery at that junket.

I still keep meaning to pick up a copy of the recent Peter Weir gulag film he was in.

Not sure about how he is as a director, was 'Pollock' any good?

Moore importantly is there a bad Ed Harris performance out there? If there is, I can't remember it.

I like Ed Harris but in my brain he looks like Robocop when he takes his helmet off.

That's funny I think Robocop looks more like Ed Harris with his helmet on! ;)

For some reason, his best performance I can think of is the silly dancing routine in Creepshow. Where's my cake, Bedelia?

I liked him in 'The Rock', nearly bought this on blu ray at the weekend but couldn't be bothered to que up in HMV. I think I might order it from Play.com today.

Perfect example Jaykay! His portrayal of a character who feels forced into action to protect his men and nation is one of the best things about that film, shits all over Connery''s hamming and Cage's dorky scientist, although that's one of the few Cage performances I can stomach.
