Problems with the site
 

Apologies if I am posting in the wrong section, but I have been experiencing this problem now for roughly a month or two.

I suddenly found that I can't leave comments in news or feature items on the home page. I can see others leaving comments but the usual "Comment" box doesn't appear on my page anymore.

Do I need to upgrade an application or something? Your feedback will be appreciated.

I noticed that the comment box is always the last thing to load when you open one of the news articles or features. Maybe give it a bit longer or try signing in again. Do you sign in through the forum or through the main web page? I think when you sign in through the forum then decide you want to post a comment about a feature or article on the main page, then you have to sign in again on the main page but I'm not sure. In other words, I don't really know...:confused:

Do you work for Microsoft by any chance, biscuits? If not, you should.

Also, I just noticed my reply count is only at 4 (now 5:)), yet I have commented dozens of times on the main page. WTF?!?!

The world is now a poorer place without me leaving my 2 cents.:D

Your post count is for posts on the forum only. I don't think there's any way to find out how many comments you've made on the main page.

Don't know about Microsoft but I heard there's a vacancy at Apple.

Hmm, I can't even access the comment box on my BB. Maybe I need a Flash upgrade?!?

Sorry to hear you've been experiencing problems with the Comments boxes.

I just tried to replicate your problem, and even though I was logged in to the forum, I was prompted to log in again when I clicked on a news story on the home page. Once I had logged in, though, I had full access to the Comments box.

Jeffbiscuits is indeed correct. The post count you see within the forum relates purely to forum posts. I think there were discussions afoot about providing 'one view' for the user, ie being able to see all your activity from your own profile, but I'm not sure how far along these are...

If you're still having problems accessing the Comment boxes, maybe try using a different browser and see if you experience the same problems.

Trouble viewing features
 

on some fatures such as the worst posters of 2011 i jave trouble actually viewing the images, instead i get a long line down the middle of th screen as if the image has been squashed down.... any help with this??:(
