Issue 185 - When the wheels started to fall off TF

Issue 185 - That's the moment when everything started to fall apart at Total Film.
Going back over my old issues that is the moment Jane Crowther took over from Aubrey Day as Editor.

Seems we have her to thank for this dumbing down of 'Total Film'. Up until issue 185 the magazine was run by Aubrey Day. After that Jane Crowther became 'Acting Editor' then finally 'Editor-in-Chief.

Buck your ideas up Jane. Stop Zane, stop this Keith Lemon photoshoot nonsense or you're soon going to have no readership left.

I agree. Total Film used to be so fun to read and I found myself reading every article, but now the magazine is a chore to look through. I just find myself reading a few articles and then putting the mag down.
Thinking of changing over to Empire if nothing improves soon.

After buying Total Film from issue 1...

I had a quick flick through Total Film at the newsagents.

The reasons I will not be buying Total Film this month:

Alex Zane column.
7 pages of pointless photos on the Total Film awards.
ANOTHER comic book movie issue. Didn't we just have one of these?

My second month of not buying Total Film.

I don't mind Zane, he usually brings up some good films, even though it's nothing special, it's a nice feature.
But, I have to agree, the magazine does seem to be losing something. Even the interview with Cruise, who actually came across as pretty decent, was too short, but no worries, we got yet more on the Lord of the Rings, cus we can never have too much of that, right?
Empire had a huge deal for the new Rings trilogy, too, this month. But the other stuff was pretty interesting
