Default Daniel Day Lewis as the Joker?

Well, can he do it, will he do it, or will the finest actor of his generation pass on playing the most iconic villan in pop art history? I hope he takes up the challenge that's tentatively offered-being there is to be at least a 3 year gap until the next instalment the idea of following Heath Ledgers unique turn may not seem so daunting for Dainiel Day Lewis- and i think he'll see it as a challenge. After speaking so highly of Heath at the oscars maybe Daniel feels it would be fitting to breath life back into the Joker some time in the future.Playing the Joker offers an actor the oppotunity to work without fear of an ott performance, freestyling in its purest form. In my opinion no other actor can disappear so completely inside a role like Lewis and i think he can show that the Joker is more than a suit and a smile.I would like to see him play it-if he does-cold a la Doctor Lector in Silence of the Lambs, all stillness and menace.both Nicholson and Ledger have driven the Joker at warp speed, so fast that we dont really see him. Maybe Daniel Day Lewis will allow us to see the Joker for what he really is, and maybe he will play it so well that we will be terrified that he did! Maybe, maybe, maybe. So that's my humble opinion, but i must confess the idea of Lewis in the white face paint gets me all excited, and the doctors say i mustn't get too excited :-)Maybe i should corner Daniel next time i see him and have a little word in his shell like. But if you all can think of a better candidate i'd be interested to hear it.P.S. if you're bored you can perk yourself up, go and have a look at a Daniel/joker teaser on my profile page, haven't you heard of the healing power of laughter........
