The Longest Day - I found it very impressive for its time, the actors were decent, (even the cameos), it even deservedly won an award for its cinematography, (see aerial shots as an example), comparing this to Saving Private Ryan is biased seeing as if they made that movie in 1962, they wouldn't have got away with it, (See The Wild Bunch controversy as an example). It really is a good documentation of the Allied Assault. My only gripe is with John Wayne, are we supposed to believe the badass wig wearer is in his 20s in this movie, he was at least in his mid-50s when they were making this, and the same goes to some of the other cast.
I'd probably give this film a 9 out of 10.
