A warm Total Film welcome to all new members. Please read the following and enjoy your stay.
General Rules
Everyone has a right to an opinion
If someone's opinion is not the same as yours, you don't have to agree with them but you do have to respect their choice.
Be polite
This forum does not tolerate rudeness, bullying, name-calling or nastiness of any sort. Please be warned that we operate a 'two strikes and you're out' policy. That is to say, if you are pulled up by a moderator or admin for unacceptable behaviour, you will be pointed back to these Forum Rules and issued one warning only. If the unacceptable behaviour persists, you will be banned.
No Spamming
This includes posting just to boost your post count, posting messages that are devoid of content, posting to promote a link to another website or blog*, or copying and pasting content directly from an existing website or blog. If your very first post is a spam, you may not get to make more.
* Please feel free to add a link to a personal website or blog in your signature. NB This does not include links to sites selling Ugg Boots or dodgy pirate movies. These will, of course, be removed.
Click here for instructions for signatures.
A post represents the opinions of its author
This even applies to mods and admins, unless they specify otherwise.
Posting Guidelines
When making a post, remember these top tips:
Write in correct English
No txtspeak please. We don't mind common net abbreviations such as LOL, and we don't demand precision typing skills, but abbreviations such as 'u' or 'l8r' are immature and detract from the content of your message. And No ALL CAPS posts.
Use an existing thread whenever possible
Use the Search function if in doubt. Double threads may be locked or removed.
Use an informative subject
Subjects should give a clue to what a thread is about. They should not be IN ALL CAPS or say things like "Click Here!!!".
Don't abuse BBCode
Posting a message in mile-high purple letters might seem amusing at the time, but we can guarantee the result will not be as readable as you would like. BBCode is there to help you emphasise specific points. It is not a new artistic medium.
Moderators have roles specifically related to the message boards
They check that things are running smoothly, and make sure people are not breaking the rules. They may move, delete or edit your posts to remove unwanted content. If a moderator tells you not to do something, please heed their words. Mods are also here to help: contact them by PM to get assistance:
Jonesy and
kiba.
The Administrator is your direct link to the Total Film magazine and website
By all means, post a problem or a comment on the Forum, but you can also PM the site Administrator (
Lizhawkins) for more direct action.
