I enjoy his performance, its one of the best parts of the film for me. Im not saying its good acting, its over blown and utterly insane, but I cant help enjoy it. I know you are a man who enjoys the more subtle side of acting, I do too normally, I just find myself smiling when I watch it.
I agree about Diaz, she can act, but here its just wrong. For me the biggest problem of the film is its clumsy, poor editing and a rushed and muddled ending, its also packed with obvious images, e.g. The Bible being thrown in the river in super slow mo, yes we get it, Amsterdam Vallon has no love for God, enough already.
