Trees
A truly dire parody of Jaws except this time an evil tree is killing off frisky campers in the height of the Summer camping season. The three leads are replaced with a forest ranger, a botanist and a grizzled lumberjack called Squint. The acting is of a Troll 2 standard and at the start of the film there's actually a disclaimer letting us know that this is an homage to Jaws and Spielberg
.
The films one saving grace is that some of the lines (almost directly lifted from Jaws) are actually quite funny.
"That's the thing about trees... they're silent like the night! They don't make a noise... they just stand there."
"Everyone out of the woods!"
"This was no lawnmower accident!"
"We tell them there's a killer tree on the loose, and you've got pandemonium on Memorial Day!"
"Jim, if you open up those campgrounds on Memorial Day, well, it's like opening up a buffet, for chrissakes!"
"You're gonna need a bigger axe."
In different hands, this could have been a really funny parody, but as it is, feels like it was written by a ten year old.1/5
