I'm not the biggest fan of Pirates of the Carribean 4 but it's a decent two hour diversion or so.
It did leave me with one burning question about the ritual though.
According to the ritual, if person A drinks from the chalice with the mermaid's tear, s/he should get the remaining living yeas of person B who drank from the chalice without the tear. At least that's how I understood it.
When Blackbeard drank from the chalice without the tear he had literally minutes to live which means that his daughter only gained a few more minutes to her life. Hardly worth all the effort!
Did I misunderstand the ritual or is this a gaping plot hole?
Thanks.
The best part of the film was the bit with the mermaids in my opinion. I particularly liked the song My Jolly Sailor Bold.
Edit note: I just realised there were better places in the forum where to post this because this is not really a review. Not sure whether it's possible to have it moved to a more appropriate place so until I get told off, it's staying here. Sorry. I'll go and sit in the corner now.
