I thought it was a good film. Simply but effectively shot and harrowing. A reminder that parents are not always entirely responsible for bad kids - some kids just come out that way. There is some oversimplification there, but I think the point holds. Yes, Tilda was brilliant. She was robbed of a nomination for Oscar.
A Dangerous Method
pros: Stellar cast, beautifully shot, gorgeous locations and costumes if you like that sort of thing.
cons: Boring and dry as a bone. Mortensen as Freud seemed to do nothing other than suck on his cigar and make pithy observations. Fassbender is good as usual, Knightley's Russian accent didn't convince and her character was terribly awkward to watch.
Cronenberg, you normally entertain better than this, disappointing.
