Deserves more credit
When I saw this on the big screen I was honestly mesmerized. I recall hearing that David Fincher was this hot shot video/commercial director so I was curious to what he would do.
The opening sequence with Eliot Goldenthals score was breathtaking, even if the script did kill off characters that were so beloved in Aliens.
From there I thought it lagged in times when dealing with the prisoners and their philosophy, but otherwise it was a noble effort overall to return back to the franchise's claustrophobic roots.
I think Fincher deserves more credit as the only faults with this were mainly with the script. But otherwise what an awesome ending.
