Tower Heist

From what I was lead to believe, this was going to be a poor film, hardly worthy of the cast, and yet, I was pleasantly surprised.

It's a total "lock your brain away for the duration" movie and, if you follow that advice, it's actually a very well thought out set up comedy.

It would be very easy for this to have had a higher than 12 rating simply due to the profanity that could have been used (for every instance where another rude word could have been used, they substituted it for "shit" ) but that didn't take away from the simplistic way everything just naturally flowed together, including a nice turn from all the main stars, the good thing being that everyone was given enough screen time to cement their position in the films hierarchy, yet not enough time that they dominated the film.

Eddie was in there just long enough to make you want more Eddie, Stiller was in there just enough as a lead but not long enough to overpower everything else, even the Broderick looked remarkably grown up and nothing like his usual youthful self (I had to wait until about half way through the film before I realized who it was), even the future ex Mrs Fox Mulder didn't ruin it by being sexy and baring her wonderful legs, just when you think she's going to go all sexy agent, she stops.

My Mrs said it was just the silliest thing she'd seen but it was enjoyable nevertheless so i'd give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars.
